Project Description

The main objective of the project is to design, analyse, fabricate and experiment vibration test fixture for multiple motors. We in a team 4 iterated design to obtain optimum design for the parameters specified by partner institute Central Manufacturing Technology Institute (CMTI), India. Designs of vibration test fixture was iterated keeping trade-off for modal frequency and strength in SOLIDWORKS. Performed Strength, Modal and Harmonic Response analysis test using ANSYS workbench tool for optimum results. Along the iterations Optimized specific strength by 28 % without reducing the Modal Frequency.Fabricated the Test Fixture to perform experiments. Conducted Impact hammer analysis to determine the natural frequency of the fabricated fixture.There was an error of 6.78 % from ANSYS value to the experimental determined value.
