Project Description

The main objective of this project is to study Geneva mechanism and apply the same to design automatic paper cutting machine which is small, portable and completely automatic cutting. Reducing the time for marking the dimension in small papers and to cut the paper in accurate and equal dimensions was also one important goal. As part of the soution we Evaluated parameters for Geneva mechanism, roller diameter and crank lever mechanism for dimensions. Designed the system using SOLIDWORKS and analysed parameters to obtain compact model. Fabricated the system as per the design and Performed experiments to reduce vibrations by 9 percent induced during operation deploying various damping techniques. Our team was awarded as the "Third Best Project" among the other 45 groups that participated in the final round in Siddaganga Institute of Technology, Mechanical Department.
